This is a really cool product. I liked that the instructions were verbal since that would be particularly good for children whose reading skills might not be very confident. However, I think one way you could improve this flash would be to add either subtitles or a written summary of the recipe at the end of each section. That way anyone who wanted to see the recipe written down wouldn't have to make their own notes.
Author's Response:
Subtitles were part of my original idea, I just ran out of time.
Thanks for the review!

You're right, it's very simple but sometimes simple is best. I was expecting it to be quite bland but I had loads of fun with it. I dunno, maybe I just really like playing squash. Awesome stuff!

Great game overall. The only thing I can think would improve it would be to have slightly bigger buttons to press as the actual coloured lights were quite small in the centre of a large empty area.

"Interesting take on the simgame concept"
Overall, I like what you've created here in terms of the concept. I like that when you earn money, you have to actually complete a real task, for example manipulating food items when making noodles, rather than just clicking a button to earn gold. A lot of sim games are nothing more than glorified spreadsheets with a few graphics added, so I like that yours isn't like that. I also like the customisable options in the game, such as buying clothes, since this also moves away from the cold mathematical side of sims and makes it feel more like a game. However, there are a few areas which I think require improvement. For one thing, the instructions are very brief at the start of the game and the subsequent interface of buildings is quite confusing. You might want to add a short description under the names of each of the buildings so that working your way around the game is not a lengthy trial and error experience. Some user exploration is good but it can get quite boring to have to work out every aspect of the game yourself. Additionally I found the fonts used to be quite hard to read and they become even more so when words you roll over change to something else.
Lastly I would like to commend you on attempting to move away from games which target an exclusively male audience to the point of misogyny. It is true that there are a lot of female gamers who are looking for games which target their interests and represent them positively instead of as fapping material. However, I would like to respectfully suggest that *all* female gamers are not violently offended and disgusted by hentai. Women like pron too. What would be really cool would be a hentai game that specifically targets female gamers, rather than the current situation which is "pron for the lads, cuteness for the girlies".
Keep up the hard work :)

"Some really good traditional animation"
Looks like you're well on the way to producing a decent showreel. As a first glance opinion I would say a couple of the exercises at the start need a little more squash and stretch and probably some more follow through action to stop the characters coming to a dead halt when they finish moving. Other than that, there's some high quality character animation there. I particularly liked the folding box.

I don't think the political message was very clear. As others might have mentioned, an anti-war piece which shows lots of apparently touching moments, eg soldiers smiling at little kids, etc, doesn't really convey an anti-war sentiment since those are the images people most associate with supporting the troops. Additionally this is more of a slideshow than a proper piece of flash animation. With better flash skills and a more clear message I think this would do better.

Awesome piece of coding, well done. Probably not as much instant gratification as would be needed to entertain your average NG user but don't let that bother you.

This was really cute :3 The clueless of the guy is awesomely funny.
I think it could use some sound, even if it was just some quiet music in the background. Sound effects would definitely be awesome. The animation was really good too. Keep it up ^^

This is a nice improvement on your other game; the closet was a really cute idea, maybe you could develop it further? The clothing options were good too, though I'd say the way to improve them more would be to increase the variety of colours as well as the styles, eg. have stripy stockings or something like that.
I think the best way to improve from here is to look at some of the really awesome dress ups on NG eg. the Dress My Babe series and draw inspiration from there.

Come on man, you spent ages telling everyone to install flash 9 when your first attempt didn't work. You even went so far as to tell people they had shit computers. Now you've suddenly realised that flash 9 wasn't required to make your flash work and you're saying we should all be using flash 8 instead. Double yoo tee eff?
Have you noticed how nobody else on newgrounds has to specify a specific player for their stuff to work? That's because their stuff isn't broken.
Similarly to some other reviewers, I too have wondered how a sound-heavy flash could possibly be so teensy as to be 57k. I'm guessing for the same reason that it doesn't work: it's either a really abstract prank or a really dumb mistake.
Author's Response:
Just go and ask them who have Flash 8, they will tell how well it works!
